Isn't that something revolutionary today, just like computers which run through constant updates we are now having several updates even in our phones. The newest Apple update for the iPhone is version 2.2 iPhone Software.
This update promises several things such as:
- Improved stability and performance of Safari
- Improved sound quality of Visual Voicemail messages
- Enhancements to Maps
- Google Street View*
- Public transit and walking directions
- Display address of dropped pins
- Share location via email
- Decrease in call setup failures and dropped calls
and many other improvements to your iPhone. That makes me wonder whether companies today simply release updates in order to make our experience better and more satisfying or whether they do that because they have released their products in such a rush that it wasn't really the meant final product to hit the shelves. With such huge pressure in these big brand names today to put products on the market, they always seem to have a timeline to be met, which in turn probably leads them to a releases of unfinished products. I definitely see the other side of the argument as well, perhaps errors just come within these big projects and I believe that them having the ability to fix their products is amazing. How do you see this, simply as a problem or a solver?

I think issue involves a little of both sides.
Companies obviously want to make their product more appealing and satisfying for their users (so that they will continue to subscribe to their services and buy their products), but they are also constantly tweaking and changing them (as we all know, technology is constantly changing), and they're not always "perfect" when they first reach the shelves.
I don't actually have an iphone...so i don't know if you have to pay for updates or to add any new features or not...but if you do, then another reason for why these updates keep appearing is probably because companies want to make their money. By slowly releasing new features, people are forced to pay more money if they want to have access to them. In this case, it's also really just like one big game.
